We exist to provide youth philanthropy education and promote students to advocate for positive change and give back to their community. We have been serving Austin-area students since 2007.

We kicked off our 2017-2018 school year with our Educator Training in August. Teachers, counselors and administrators from the 45 schools we are partnering with this year participated in a training and workshop to discuss service-based learning, ideas and plans for engaging their students in philanthropy and prepare for the year ahead. We are thrilled to work with Austin ISD, Manor ISD, Round Rock ISD and various independent schools this year.

We launched a new summer program this year, Camp Legacy! Middle and high school students from all over Austin joined us for two week-long sessions to learn about local issues, participate in hands-on volunteering and meet with nonprofit leaders and clients. Each day of the camp was spent focusing on different social concerns, such as hunger and food insecurity, homelessness, youth shelter services, workforce development and conservation. We learned a lot, worked hard and had a lot of fun! Stay tuned for Camp Legacy 2018 dates.

This spring, our student philanthropists participated in Community Impact Projects, uniquely designed to engage students’ minds, hearts, and philanthropic passions. Students worked with their teachers and classmates to choose local issues they wanted to address, created advocacy campaigns and executed service projects. They presented their projects at the Student Philanthropy Showcase to fellow students and community members.
